Two-Day Training on Large Group Facilitation

Are you interested in learning innovative techniques to make meetings of 25-300 people engaging, effective, and efficient?  This is your best training opportunity to learn valuable concepts and practical tools on one day - and get first-hand experience by assisting in producing a premiere community event in Harrisonburg on the second day.

About Fairfield Communications Training

The Fairfield Center incorporated in 1982 as the first Community Mediation Center in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Fairfield immediately began offering a range of beginner and advanced training in mediation, facilitation, group decision-making dynamics, and more.  With nearly three decades of experience, Fairfield sets itself apart by giving each training participant the most practical and useful tools to apply in workplace and community settings.

NOTE: To insure quality, registration is limited to 12 people.
A minimum of 6 participants will be needed by Wednesday, Feb 10 at 5pm.
All registrations will be fully refunded if the minimum is not met.

Day 1 - Wednesday February 17, 10:00am-6:00pm

This day will focus on concepts and best practices for engaging large groups.  Participants will be exposed to process models that can be used to guide groups of 25 to 300 in combinations of strategic planning, visioning, brainstorming, evaluation, decision-making, team-building, and/or forming action teams.

The focus of this training is for half-day to three-day events.

Day 2 - Thursday February 18, 8:00am-7:00pm
Practical Hands-On Production of a Fairfield Summit

Participants will be a vital part in producing a one-day Fairfield Summit in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  Fairfield Summits applied in Harrisonburg bring together between 100-300 people to discuss a vital community issue.  Fairfield leads between 50-100 organizations in a partnership to convene a large-scale community dialogue using Open Space Technology (a form of "unconference" or "non-traditional conference design").

For this training, the event will be the Harrisonburg Summit on Strengthening Local Business and Economy.  The event has a strategic partnership with the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce and will include a plenary session Economic Forecast prior to breaking into a full-scale Open Space Technology event complete with multiple downtown venues and a live website to record proceedings.

Information about the event is available at www.HarrisonburgSummits.com
